Summary

The National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) leads the nation's effort to protect the United States from terrorism by integrating, analyzing and sharing information to drive whole-of-government action and achieve our national CT objectives.

Duties

  • The NCTC Operations Center (NCTOC) serves as NCTC's point of entry for intelligence reporting and provides situational awareness on global terrorism issues and breaking real-world events. It is the central hub for communications between the Center, the IC, and the broader CT community. NCTOC is looking for an experienced professional to brief the NCTC Director and the wider Intelligence Counterterrorism community. Ensure the Director of NCTC and his designated staff receive their daily current intelligence briefings; Provide research and respond to the NCTC Front Office's daily substantive intelligence taskings; Develop script and provide executive summary briefing to the daily 0800 CT Community Threat Secure Video Teleconference (SVTC); Provide written and verbal feedback to NCTOC and other relevant NCTC personnel regarding NCTC senior leadership and CT Community response to NCTOC product line; Perform community outreach and collaboration activities by planning and engaging in internal and external information sharing, fostering collaborative relationships with interagency partners, and communicating timely and relevant intelligence information.

Identify one or two relevant Executive Orders or policy initiatives that are significant to you and explain how you would help implement them if hired. How has a strong work ethic contributed to your professional, academic or personal achievements? Provide one or two specific examples and explain how those qualities would enable you to serve effectively in this position. Mandatory Requirements Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey complex information and technical data to all levels of management; Experience briefing senior government or military officials; Basic ability develop written products, as well as the ability communicate with counterparts and senior officials on products, answer questions, and provide requested information; Knowledge of CT Community organizations, policies, and procedures; Basic ability to think critically, make sound decisions, and articulate findings clearly in a dynamic, high-tempo work environment of incomplete information; Basic ability to multi-task and redirect activities quickly as demands change; Basic ability to support group decisions and solicit opinions from co-workers. Note: The work schedule requires early morning starts (~0200) Monday thru Friday to properly prepare for briefings to Senior Executive level officers starting at 0700. The Director's Briefer is designated mission-essential and must be available for extended hours and is always on-call for contingency situations. Premium pay is provided for nonstandard working hours.
