Summary
You will serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA) for NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS.
Duties
- You will perform essential victim service , advocacy, and support duties.
- You will accept official reports of sexual assault by assisting the victim in completing official forms.
- You will offer expertise guidance to victims on reporting options and explaining exceptions and limitations.
- You will facilitate planning, scheduling, and delivery of SAPR training for stakeholders and local populations.
- You must effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management, staff, and military personnel.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirement for this position at the GS-11 level, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Providing non-clinical support to adult victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment; 2.) Developing, marketing and analyzing services provided to victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment; 3.) Employing various methods and techniques typical of a sexual harassment victim advocate program. Education
Applicants must meet the following basic/positive education qualification requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required specialized experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: For the GS-11 Level: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position OR Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree. OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
