About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at 160th Signal Brigade in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This is an unaccompanied position with an initial overseas tour of 1 year with possible extensions for a total of 5 years.

Duties

• Directs and evaluates a comprehensive, 24-hour-a-day safety and occupational health program and serves as the primary adviser to the Commander, staff, and subordinate commanders, analyzing and resolving complex, diverse, and high-risk hazards.
• Develops and implements policy and guidance applicable to hazardous operations supporting the Command mission, including use of current information technology communications equipment and repair of complex electronic/electrical gear and materials.
• Plans, organizes, and provides technical advice to subordinate command unit safety personnel. Briefs senior command officials who discuss Command-wide safety problems and review Command accident experience.
• Establishes and maintains continuing liaison and cooperative relationships with subordinate organizations, host nation and Army safety and governmental officials and civilian professional organizations.
• Directs the systematic collection and analysis of accident data and directs performance of job hazard analysis on hazardous communication and electronic job specialties.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by assisting with the development of policies for hazardous military operations; Implementing safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and processing accident reports; analyzing and resolving complex, diverse, and high-risk hazards; and planning and scheduling the safety and health inspection program.
