This vacancy is for a GS-0346-12, Logistic Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OPERATING LOCATION OPC RESIDENT INSPECTION OFFICE -RIO MOBILE AL in MOBILE, Alabama.

Duties

  • You will serve as a/an Logistic Management Specialist and be responsible for tracking and updating logistical requirements which includes evaluating contractor data submittals, reviewing, and analyzing logistics data, drawings, engineering change proposals, contractor progress, and contributing to design and progress reviews.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Working closely with contractor personnel, project managers, and sustainment community to ensure logistics requirements and program goals are being met. Providing logistics expertise in the areas of design development, production and delivery requirements, and initial and follow-on operations requirements. Assisting the development of formal logistic presentations including logistic readiness reviews and reports to higher-level program groups. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS/CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTMandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. Incumbent is expected to obtain/maintain Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) certification Level II within 12 months of hire. Required to meet the DHS Lifecycle Logistics Level II professional acquisition certification requirements within 18 months of assignment.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. NOTE: All experience statements (i.e., duties, specialized experience, or occupational assessment questionnaire) copied from this announcement and pasted into your resume will not be considered as a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.Specialized experience may include the following: Analyzes and defines activities and support efforts required to achieve established objectives and milestones. Develops and revises project documentation and contributes to various briefings. Supports fleet introduction and material readiness in a technically and cost-effective manner as they pertain to logistics matters NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
